Peer review process

According to the editorial policies of Elecciones Journal, all articles go through a pre-evaluation process in which the Editor of the Journal and members of the Editorial Committee determine if the submitted manuscript complies with the established focus and guidelines. Once this stage is passed, the Editor assigns each article to a minimum of two external reviewers. In case of different decisions, the Editor will evaluate the possibility of sending the manuscript to a third reviewer. Thus, the evaluation of each piece is by a double-blind process.

Editorial decision

Once the blind peer review has been completed, the Editor will communicate the editorial decision on the manuscript with the authors. The submitted article may receive a rating of:

Not publishable.

Publishable following suggestions and after a new review by the reviewers.

Publishable after attending to minor suggestions.

Publishable without observations.
