Los vaivenes del constitucionalismo latinoamericano en las últimas décadas

Abstract

The author examines the origins and main characteristics of Latin American constitutionalism in the twentieth century. In particular, it focuses on the context of the return to democracy in Latin America since the 1970s. Thus, he analyzes four phenomena present in the Latin American constitutionalism: the immediate and/or undefined election of the President, the two-round system or ballotage, the integrationist ideals in the region, and the rise and the inclusion of human rights.
