  • Abstract

    More than two decades ago, writing about elections was a task mostly reserved for those who wanted to testify or make apologies about candidates and campaigns. The little recurrence of the exercise of suffrage and the long periods of authoritarian or dictatorial governments, instilled not only little citizen experience and little or poor understanding of the democratic nature of this fact, but also kept it out of the agendas of the academic and institutional world.
