Abstract

Studying the issue of the expansion of the electoral body is important because it contributes to the knowledge of the evolution of democracy in modern states. Throughout the republican history of Latin American countries, the electoral body has been conditioned by criteria such as race, property, income, profession, culture, sex, neighborhood and age of majority.
