Movimientos sociales y poder político: la politicidad de la acción colectiva como eje de debate entre dirigentes sociales de la FTV/PTA de Argentina

Abstract

Social movement and political party define specific models of political participation, which are usually tackled as apathetic one to the other. This characterization, formulated in the frame of western democracies, does not allow comprehending the social mobilization processes that took place in Latin America along the last 25 years. In that context urges the construction of a regional approach built on the results of empirically based researches. With that purpose we analyze here the debates about social movement possibilities and limits sustained by the leaders of FTV, a picketing movement, in two different contexts: when they have the chance to accept state subsidies and when some of them decided to create a political party, the PTA, to support the president.
