La corta y sobresaltada historia del financiamiento público a los partidos en Bolivia

Abstract

The author explains the history of public funding in Bolivia, which, from the beginning, led to an intense debate in that country. The article begins by explaining the reasons why this type of financing was approved in 1997, and was included in the Political Parties Act two years later, yet, disappeared in 2008. The analysis was carried out considering the variables of the socio-political context and the principal features of legislation, including the way in which it was applied.
