About the Journal

Aims and Scope

Revista Elecciones is a journal edited the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE by its Spanish acronym), specializing in electoral issues. Elecciones was founded in 2002 and is dedicated to the multidimensional analysis of elections in democratic systems. The Journal publishes original and innovative articles prepared by researchers in Political Science, Law, Political Communication, and other related fields from various public and private institutions, authorities, and electoral officials interested in elections and democracy. The Journal seeks to be a space for plural, rigorous dialogue and constant exchange between the academy and key actors of electoral governance.

Periodicity and structure

Elecciones is a biannual academic journal (published in July and December). We receive original Articles and Election Analysis in Spanish and English. Since December 2025, the journal is published bilingually (Spanish and English).
